The worldwide food chain

Food chain operation in Brazil and Latin America, with 250 BlackBerry users and 1,800 restaurants, contracts outsourcing services, the Navita MDM - Mobile Device Management for enterprise environment management for smartphones from RIM - Research in Motion.

The Challenge

Manage the BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ (BES) – enterprise server for BlackBerry smartphones – for the food chain operation in Brazil and part of Latin America.

The Solution

The solution seeks to provide second level technical support for a base of approximately 250 users in the area covered, between directors and corporate managers. The service encompasses the McDonald's operation in Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. The goal is to maintain the stability of the technological environment based on BES. Today, the restaurant chain has about 1,800 stores throughout Latin America.

“McDonald's IT department manages the entire technological infrastructure that supports the network in Brazil and the Latin American countries that are covered. Navita was called upon to ensure high availability of the servers and to keep executives connected by means of BlackBerry smartphones,” says Paulo Delpizzo, BlackBerry Solutions Diretor for Navita. “We take care of a critical structure that cannot stop, pinpointing opportunities for improving and upgrading the BES environment for the corporate network operation.”
